Eight years in the making
A Seminole County school teacher recently toured GoPlay!  She is new to the area and was seeking her child’s first childcare. Being in education, this mother asked great questions and was interested in the why behind GoPlay!’s unique ways. The more interested this parent became, the more passionate I became, talking about “the GoPlay! Way”.  I explained why our weekly themes differed from the “store bought” curriculum, I talked about how our signature Story Time Theater sets the stage for our daily adventure, and I went into detail about the hands-on approach and how we incorporate it into the sign language lessons. At the end of our lengthy tour, this mom asked, “How long did it take you to develop this program?”  I had never been asked that.  I replied that GoPlay! itself had been eight years in the making and that we are continually tweaking. At that point my newest GoPlay! mom commended me for “thinking outside the box!” and made one final statement - “Every teacher has been engaged this whole time!”
After the tour, I stood at the front counter. I looked at the 9,000 square foot center I had walked into on  January 2, 2007 and  I realized  GoPlay! has become more than an open concept preschool with wonderful murals, colorful play equipment and a 50’s style Café. It has become a model preschool for hands-on learning through play experiences. The GoPlay! Way is engaged teachers preparing and facilitating a comprehensive curriculum, laced with creativity and cleanliness. Our passion for preparing children for the future, while making each day fun and enjoyable, is proven.
